Outside General Counsel Program - Kenneth J. Nota

Outside General Counsel Program

Please note that the description of services and areas or practice below are intended only as a brief summary of these practice areas and not intended as legal advice or guidance.

Most companies do not have the need or the resources to employ their own full-time, in-house counsel. But you can have the same benefits of having in-house counsel, without the same commitment and costs. Ken spent three decades as in-house counsel to many affiliated businesses with operations in the US and abroad. He knows what businesses need and what risks they face. As part of our General Counsel Program, if you sign-up for one of the options, we will make an initial investment of our own time, to visit with you in person and learn about your business, so we can provide advice and services that are tailored to your needs. The way the program works is that for a fixed monthly fee (a true retainer), you are entitled to up to a certain number of hours of work and advice each month. There are different options you can sign-up for depending on what you think your needs might be and what you can afford. Of course, you can always pay for services under more traditional methods, such as an hourly rate or a fixed fee.

General Counsel Program fees are paid monthly in advance. Fees are a true retainer for services and are non-refundable. Only up to one month’s unused time may be carried forward. Fees do not include disbursement and expenses. Time in excess of the limit will be billed monthly, at a discounted rate, following the end of the month in which the time was incurred. Details of billing arrangements will be set out in a formal retention letter.
